Walpa Gorge Walk
A 2.6km return walk cutting between the two tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. The gorge is named for the wind that howls through it — 'walpa' means wind in Pitjantjatjara. The trail passes ancient desert oaks, spinifex, and shaded rock alcoves used by wallabies. Shorter and easier than Valley of the Winds. The most accessible walk at Kata Tjuta. The enclosed gorge creates a meditative, cathedral-like atmosphere with 200m rock walls on either side.
