Tindal RAAF Base Heritage

The RAAF base at Katherine has historical significance from WWII when it served as a front-line fighter base during the Japanese bombing campaigns of 1942–43. A small heritage display at the base records this history. The base is currently active but tours are occasionally offered. RAAF Tindal was on the front line of Australia's air defence during the 1942–43 Japanese bombing campaign. The base has a direct connection to Darwin's wartime history.
