Self-guided canoeing and kayaking through the first 5 gorges of Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge). Canoe hire is available from the visitor centre for full-day and overnight trips. Paddling through the gorge walls under your own power is the most immersive way to experience Nitmiluk. Self-guided canoeing in Nitmiluk is one of the best adventure experiences in the NT. The gorge's scale and silence are best appreciated at waterline in a canoe.
