Limited phone signalCarry 3L water/person/day
A permanent billabong at the base of Nourlangie Rock supporting outstanding birdlife and a tranquil paperbark-fringed shoreline. A 2.5km walking trail circuits the billabong, passing lotus flowers, brolgas, jabiru, and numerous crocodile warnings. The reflections of the Nourlangie escarpment in the still water are photographic. The combination of rock art above and billabong below makes this one of Kakadu's most complete experiences. The billabong is a dry season refuge for enormous numbers of birds.
Solid spot — worth a stop if you're nearby.
